01 — Where We Come From
Some companies are built in boardrooms. Hai was built from something older than that.
Our founder, David Hakopian, is the son of an Armenian immigrant who left everyone he loved — his family, his country, his whole world — and moved to Canada so his children could build a better life.
That kind of sacrifice doesn’t stay in the past. It becomes the standard you hold yourself to. The reason you don’t quit. The reason “good enough” is never enough.
Resilience isn’t a value we put on a slide deck. It’s where we came from.
02 — The Experience
David studied Software Engineering at McGill. He spent years working across software, sales, consulting, and real estate — sitting across the table from executives, startup founders, and small business owners on every side of a deal.
The people who built Hai came up the same way. Through real businesses. Real losses. Real wins. Not one of us grew up thinking the answer was to build something easy.
The real education didn’t happen in a boardroom.
03 — What We Understand
We’ve seen companies lose everything and rebuild. We’ve been inside businesses where one bad quarter changed the whole story. We’ve watched what happens when the right systems aren’t in place — and what happens when they are.
Our founder lost his home to a fire. He’s lost money, lost time, and started over more than once. That experience doesn’t make for a dramatic biography. It makes for a partner who understands what it actually costs to be all-in on something.
When you work with Hai, you’re not working with people who read about hard problems. You’re working with people who lived them — and kept building anyway.
The best growth partners aren’t the ones with the fanciest offices. They’re the ones who understand what it costs to build something from nothing.
04 — Montreal
We’re based in Montreal. Not because we had to be — because we chose to be.
Montreal is where Hai was born. It’s where we bought our first properties, built our first partnerships, and learned which clients were worth building with. It’s cold most of the year and honestly not made for everyone — but the people who stay tend to be builders.
We operate across North America and work with businesses globally. But Montreal is the base. It always will be.
05 — The Mission

We choose who we work with.

We measure one thing.
Revenue. Everything else — clicks, impressions, brand awareness scores — only matters if it leads there. We are ROI-obsessed, not activity-obsessed.
